Remembering Buddy Christian

SPO-Buddy-ChristianEveryone at Stephens and Brown was happy to see justice brought to the killer of Athens-Clarke County police officer, Buddy Christian. Buddy was a good man who served our community with kindness and compassion. Before his death Buddy often read aloud to children at the Learning Express store in the Mall on Saturday mornings. Kim Stephens’s youngest daughter, Isabelle, had the pleasure of listening to his stories, and personally, we will remember him as a man who took the time to read fairy tales to little children, to listen to them, and to love them. Although we know that Friday’s sentencing cannot restore Buddy to his family and to our community, we sincerely hope that it will bring some measure of peace to his wife, parents, and children to know that Jamie Hood will spend the rest of his life behind bars. We will continue to remember Buddy with gratitude and offer thanksgiving for a life well lived.
